Join us at Ming Studios for an evening with Troy Passey and J. Reuben Appelman as they present insights into the creation of Woodsmoke: Reflections on Place, After James Castle, a new book of art and poetry inspired by the James Castle House.

Hosted by writer Alan Heathcock and the Boise City Department of Arts & History, and taking place in an immersive exhibition of works from the book, this event comprises an artist talk and selected readings from the book. Passey and Appelman will reflect on their exploration of the house’s architecture and history, and the experience of capturing the character of the house in a complex portrait of place.

This event is part of a month-long exhibition celebrating the James Castle House, which opens to the public April 28, 2018.
