Savannah Shaon, Public Art Project Coordinator

Savannah (she/her) liaises between the departments of Arts & History and Boise Airport to support the implementation of the airport’s Arts Master Plan. Working across departments and alongside the artist community, she will expand and strengthen the airport’s art collection through new opportunities, projects, and programming.

After earning a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Justice Systems from Truman State University, Savannah made a career change and moved to Rome, Italy to earn a Master of Arts in Art History from John Cabot University. While there, she studied ancient and contemporary Italian art and explored the region through museums, cultural heritage sites, and cafes (sipping espresso!). Upon graduating, she joined the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts in Alabama as a curator, playing a key role in developing, producing, managing, and implementing temporary and permanent public artworks, exhibitions, and artist-driven initiatives.

As opportunities for new works of public art arise from growth and construction at the Boise Airport, she is excited to bring her background in contemporary art and experience producing and shepherding projects within visual arts in the public realm.

Warm and approachable, Savannah revels in the joy of simple pleasures, from lounging in the sun, and reading classics by Jane Austen and the Brontë sisters, to long chats with friends, and meeting new people. She also enjoys a good challenge, from hiking and running in the Boise Foothills, to brain games like Sudoku, or experimenting in the kitchen.
