A colorful pastel landscape evoking images of stones and moving water. This work was created by utilizing an underpainting of watercolor and ink, layered with an encaustic monotype. Images of lichen found at Kvalvika beach in Norway were screen-printed onto the encaustic monotype. Additional layers of wax were added, and topographical lines were carved and filled with oil paint. The photographs of red-orange stone were taken at Djúpalónssandur Beach, Iceland.
