Standing 18 feet tall, the "Cassia Park Archway" is a vibrant celebration of childhood, community, and creativity. Designed by Idaho artist Michael Zapponi, the arch features playful silhouettes of local children reading, riding bikes, playing soccer, and learning. These joyful forms reflect the spirit of the park and the families who bring it to life. True to its community roots, the figures were hand-painted by neighbors—parents, children, and volunteers—during a public painting day before installation. This interactive tradition continues as the archway is periodically repainted, inviting new generations to leave their mark on this beloved neighborhood landmark. A symbol of welcome and shared pride, the arch reminds all who pass beneath it: this park belongs to everyone.
