Dia de los Muertos is a theme of much of Bruce Maurey's art. As a teenager living in Southern California, Maurey made many trips in and around Mexico. Mexican culture and imagery had an effect on him that continues to influence and shape his painting style. Maurey understands the Dia de los Muertos aesthetic relevant for Boise as it experiences ever increasing expansion and diversity. Maurey paintings are whimsical and vibrant. They are a celebration of life and death. He strives to create bold, interesting and eye-catching art.
