This sculpture was created to honor both past and future recipients of the EnviroGuard Environmental Protection Award. Assembled from discarded parts salvaged from the West Boise Treatment Center scrap yard, the tree embodies the potential for a harmonious relationship between industry and the natural world. Steel rod 'vines' convey this symbiosis—utilizing industrial plumbing parts to organically reach skyward. The upraised branches culminate into water faucets that symbolize individual responsibility for conservation. Cast bronze leaves dangle from the branches and move kinetically in the wind. Surrounding the base, sandstone salvaged from the bone yard provides structural support and enhances the sculpture's connection to the environment.
