My goal is to create a design with paintings of colonial frames to raise the question of what is local and what is foreign. I am arguing that during this process of ‘framing and identifying’ the viewer is not a participant because it is the economy, religion, politics, education, etc. These institutions are the ones that frame our views of identity. Therefore, I am entertaining this question: Now that this work has been reframed so many times, how are you going to re‐frame it now?
