Acting as an urban trellis, “Heliotrope” is a sixteen-foot-tall sculpture made of stainless steel and is designed to symbolize heliotropic characteristics of plants which move to follow the path of the sun across the sky. At the center of the sculpture is an area designed for live climbing vines to demonstrate unique properties of heliotropism. Light from the sun provides energy used by plants for photosynthesis.
