This city is bustling. In small ways and in big ways, the environment surrounding us is active, and full of people working, living, and growing. With this artwork, Marne Elmore hopes to convey a sense of reverence for the toil – the daily work and the daily grind that hopefully enables us to enjoy the free moments. The wrinkles in our skin may be demonstrative of labor and may be hard earned. They may also be from time spent under the sun soaking up rays. Time toiling at work-work, or time toiling in the garden. This environment we call home continues to change, and as it does, traffic boxes included, we should honor the juxtaposition of nature and city. Home, labor, love, nature, city, and time – this is a good toil.
