With this Living Wild piece, I wanted to capture the wild side of Idaho. I believe people within our state thrive on outdoor activity and seek outdoor adventure. I wanted to create that with a colorful landscape and wildlife scene, that would capture the attention of the audience. From the flight of Idaho birds, the rush of fish in the rivers, to the larger mammals that roam our forests. This is what Idaho is to me. I want people to take notice as they pass by the work and feel inspired, or grateful to live or visit the city of Boise. This piece is also a story of how we are all connected in one way or another. Through our communities within the city to our outdoor lifestyles. To the land we all live on, from our history to the present, and to nature. This artwork is also about not losing that connection to nature, the connection we have with people, and the connection we must keep for a safe community for everyone. Living in harmony with ourselves and the wildlife and land we inhabit and protecting that idea. The absolute beauty that we love to visit and explore. Ultimately, these surroundings and the wild spirit of Idaho is what inspires me.
