These steel tree grates are laser cut with maps that depict Boise's system of sewer lines which transport wastewater and solid waste from homes and businesses to the wastewater treatment plant, where it is cleaned before being released back into the environment, effectively removing waste from where it is not wanted to a place where it can be treated and disposed of properly. This process protects public health and water quality.
