This installation of fused, waterjet-cut glass, positioned in front of a mirror, greets visitors as they arrive at Boise Airport, welcoming them to Idaho's state capital. The artwork, with its vibrant blue, green, yellow, and clear glass segments, evokes the dynamic flow of water—a vital and life-sustaining resource deeply intertwined with Idaho’s landscape. The organic, flowing edges of the glass panels are intentionally crafted to reference the region’s rivers, lakes, and streams, which nourish both the land and its communities. As light filters through the glass, it plays with shadow, creating an ever-shifting interplay that mirrors the continuous cycle of renewal found in the natural world. The beams of glass appear to sparkle within the composition, symbolizing the life-giving power of water and its transformative role in the state’s environment, from its pristine rivers to the high desert. This piece captures the essence of Idaho’s connection to water—both as a source of vitality and as a symbol of renewal.
