Boise’s growth and development in the 1950s and 1960s is not only represented in residential buildings but also in school buildings. Nationwide the Baby Boom started in 1946 and ended in 1964. In 1951, the first Boomers entered kindergarten. School boards everywhere scrambled to build adequate schools for a rapidly increasing population. Boise was no exception. Join us and learn about mid-century schools built to accommodate the booming population between 1946 and 1970.
