Beginning summer 2017, the Boise City Department of Arts & History will proudly host a history-based book club. From July to September, we will be discussing books and articles on the Boise River and its relationship with the city. Attendees are encouraged to read one (or more!) of the included titles. Arts & History will provide light refreshments, and digital copies of some materials are available, if necessary. Contact the Department for assistance.
Emphasis in July is the Boise River and books discussed will be:
- When the River Rises: Flood Control on the Boise River by Susan M. Stacy
- Boise’s Water: The Private Side of Public Works by Robert T. Kent
- River by Design: Essays on the Boise River 1915-2015 edited by Todd Shallat and Colleen Brennan, “Raising Arrowrock” chapter
