Celebrate Neighborhood History
Join NENA board members and historian Barbara Perry Bauer on October 29 to receive a free pocket guide to historic North End Neighborhood grocery stores. The guide is the final part of a multi-phase project that includes interpretive signs and brass markers about the neighborhood's grocery stores. The booklet complements the signs and markers, providing a brief history and informative sketches of selected stores identified in the research phase. The project was funded by grants from the Boise City Department of Arts and History and Boise City Neighborhood Reinvestment Program. For those who are interested, Barbara will lead a walking tour of selected stores from 3-4pm.
