Platted by Dr. Harlan P. Ustick as its own village in 1907, Ustick quickly developed into an important site for fruit production and processing. The surrounding area was home to some of the largest apple orchards in the Pacific Northwest. Ultimately, however, the small village was absorbed by suburban growth after World War II. Today, efforts are underway by residents of Ustick to revitalize the neighborhood and celebrate the area’s history.
In collaboration with the citizens of Ustick and their efforts, please Join the Boise Department of Arts & History and architectural historian Kerry Davis of Preservation Solutions at the Cole and Ustick Library on August 22 at 7:00 p.m. for a presentation of the methodology behind the Ustick historic site survey and the findings of the project.
