The Library! at Bown Crossing welcomes local author Michael McKee Green in working on the Vox Poplar writing installation.

The Vox Poplar installation is part of a partnership between the library, the Log Cabin Literary Center, and the Boise City Department of Arts and History. Created by Janet Zweig, the artwork consists of a large, sculptural, interactive, scroll of paper with a bas-relief image of Cottonwood trees carved into the face.

Michael McKee Green's first book of poems, Fugue Figure (the Kent State University Press), was selected by Khaled Mattawa as the winner of the 2017 Stan and Tom Wick Poetry Prize. He is also the author of the micro-chapbook Blue Portrait (Oxidant | Engine ), as well as the recipient of an Academy of American Poets College Prize. Poems of his appear in journals such as Michigan Quarterly Review and Fog Machine, and his poem "In Remit" won the Burnam Poetry Scholarship (Judge, Ed Skoog). Currently, he is an MFA candidate at Boise State University, where he reads for Ahsahta Press and teaches creative writing.
