Wingtip Press - Art Making Event

*Grant Recipient Event*

Wingtip Press offers a free arts experience by the river on Saturday, July 13, 2019, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., at the Idaho Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial. You can join one of two 1.5-hour sessions: the first at 10:00am, the second at 11:30am.

The Print Boise River event will celebrate our love for the water that flows through downtown by creating stamps that symbolize the river and the life that depends on it. Through the direction of artist Amy Nack, founder of Wingtip Press, participants will carve fish, water images, birds, etc. and adhere them to the bottom of flip flops, creating a personal stamp. They’ll apply ink to their stamp and then walk their image on a 150’ paper river. Each participant will become a “public artist” when the mural is displayed on First Thursday, August 1 at The Idaho History Museum. Participants will also have the opportunity to create a small take-home print of their own. A limited number (150) generic flip-flops will be provided for free. Participants are welcome to bring their own as well.
