Music and history join forces in this concert featuring guest artists Rossitza Goza (violin); Rajung Yang (piano) and with Carmen Izzo (clarinet), Laurel Talley and Paula Stern (violin), Emily Jones (viola), and Samuel Smith (cello).

The Cartee grand piano will be on site at this event held at the Idaho State Museum. The piano reflects the city's early history and the introduction of Euro-American musical traditions to the region. The magnificent 7'3" piano (now fully restored) was shipped from New York to their home on 4th & Grove in Boise in 1878 by Lafayette Cartee, for his pianist daughter, Caroline.

The concert will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of Beethoven (December, 1770) as the off-premises "Bonus Concert" of the "Stars of Steinway 2019/2020" recital series, now in its eighth year at Dunkley Music. The concert will bring to life the music of Beethoven (his "Kruetzer" Sonata for violin and piano), and jazzy music from the 20th Century: Paul Schoenfield, living American composer (his "Cafe Music" for piano, violin and cello); Prokofiev (his "Overture on Hebrew Themes" for clarinet, piano and string quartet). Encore: "Viktor's Theme" for clarinet & piano by John Williams.\
