August 26^th is Women’s Equality Day, the day the 19^th Amendment was ratified, officially recognizing the right to vote for many women – but not all.

Join Mayor Lauren McLean, members of City Council, the Arts & History Commission, and City staff for a proclamation signing from 9-9:30 a.m. on City Hall Plaza.

Following brief remarks, the public is invited to learn about the history of the 19^th Amendment and women’s fight for equality through a traveling exhibit developed by the National Woman’s Party titled “Standing Together”. Enjoy the Suffrage Quilt public art by Stephanie Inman, participate in hands-on activities, and pick up a copy of the Little Book of Boise Suffrage.

This event will be held outside and face coverings and hand sanitizer will be made available for the health and safety of all attendees. Physical distancing is encouraged.
