Celebrating Idaho

In 2019, the Boise-based chamber ensemble Tree City Chamber Players was awarded a grant by the Boise City Department of Arts and History to commission three Boise-based composers to write pieces for flute, oboe, cello, and piano. Composers Eric Alexander, Jim Cockey, and Dave Earnest were eager to participate, and the only request made to them was to create music inspired by Idaho. These pieces were to be presented in May and June of 2020, but the pandemic forced the group to postpone this set of several performances indefinitely.
Finally, the Tree City Chamber Players are honored to present "Celebrating Idaho!" at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Boise on Friday, June 2nd, at 7pm.
Tree City Chamber Players flutist Melanie Keller, oboist Ryan Klein, pianist Chad Spears, and guest cellist Stephen Mathie thank the Boise City Department of Arts and History for helping to bring new music by Boise composers to the community.
