Join Boise Mayor Lauren McLean, City Council Member Lisa Sánchez, and Arts & History staff on Tuesday, March 22, from 12-1 p.m. on City Hall Plaza, to commemorate Women's History Month. This day also marks the fiftieth anniversary of the U.S. Senate’s approval of the Equal Rights Amendment, a constitutional amendment intended to ensure legal equality regardless of sex, but which was never officially ratified.
Following brief remarks, the public is invited to learn about women’s contributions to social reform and women’s rights through the history of the Temperance Fountain, the public artwork Suffrage Quilt (2020) by Stephanie Inman, and a traveling exhibit developed by the National Woman’s Party titled, “Standing Together”. Pick up educational materials, including a copy of the Little Book of Boise Suffrage, and enjoy hands-on activities.
Live American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be provided.

This event will be held outside. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held in the first floor Lobby of City Hall. Please view our website prior to attendance for the most updated information.
