Arts & History Grant Recipient STORY FORWARD presents the Couch Surfer Artist Series, featuring a loving and intimate evening of performance and deep-dive artistic conversation with playwright and writer, Heidi Kraay, and musician Thomas Paul, moderated by arts educator, musician, actor, community builder and clinical social worker Leta Harris Neustaedter. Think: NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts meets Fresh Air, coupled with Valentine's Day-inspired food and drink by Ochos.
Doors open at Ochos at 6 p.m.; event runs from 7-9 p.m. FREE and OPEN to those age 21+. Donations encouraged. Food and drink available for purchase.
About the February Artists
- Playwright and writer across disciplines Heidi Kraay examines the link between brain and body, seeking empathy with fractured characters. Plays include Unwind: Hindsight is 2020, see in the dark, How to Hide Your Monster, co-devised plays, one-acts, shorts and plays for young audiences. Heidi’s work has been presented in Boise, regionally in NYC and internationally, recently through Last Frontier Theatre Conference, Climate Change Theatre Action and Boise Contemporary Theater. Recent dramatic publications are available through Smith & Kraus and Applause. Heidi holds an MFA from California Institute of Integral Studies and is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America.
- Thomas Paul is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and songwriter from Boise, Idaho. Regarded as one of the region’s most versatile, gifted musicians, Paul’s output as a bandleader/solo artist and in-demand sideman and session performer covers a wide range of genres, including garage rock, lounge blues, alt-country and folk.
- Leta Harris Neustaedter, LCSW is an arts educator, musician, actor, community builder and clinical social worker. She owns Metamorphosis Performing Arts Studio, LLC where she maintains a private counseling practice and life skills into music and acting classes. She scratches her musical itch in a multitude of ways, as a soloist, in bands, and with the Boise Philharmonic Master Chorale. She is a two-time Alexa Rose Grant Recipient for music studies and composition. She is also an Idaho Commission of the Arts Certified Change leader.
