Dueling Pianos - Rachmaninoff Style

Event Details

Based on the cheering reception to the performances of duo-pianists Wynona Wang and Daniel Hsu 11 months ago, they are returning to Arts & History Grant Recipient Stars of Steinway on Saturday, October 7 and Sunday, October 8, both concerts at 4:00 p.m. This concert is in tribute to the closing of Rachmaninoff’s 150th birth year, 1873 – 2023.

On Saturday October 7, Stars of Steinway will make their debut in the Boise State Music Dept. Recital Hall, 2nd floor, academic wing of the Morrison Center, where two outstanding Steinway grands will be brought to life. The academic wing entrance on the Southeast side of the Morrison Center should be used. Parking is available in the Brady Garage (same as for Morrison Center Main Stage) and is included in your donation - $15 suggested – Boise State students free of charge.

The concert is repeated Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at the Dunkley Music recital hall on Eagle Rd., next to Lowes. Both locations offer outstanding acoustics for our concerts.

About the Artists

Wynona and Daniel will perform the most beloved work for piano and orchestra arranged by the composer for two pianos, the Piano Concerto No. 2 followed by his next most popular, the “Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini.”  (This is the second performance of the two-piano version we have presented – the first was in 2013 during our premiere season, featuring pianist Rajung Yang, who performed on our previous concert two weeks ago).
