A Queer Chaplain

About

Join Arts & History Grant Recipient A Queer Chaplain for Idaho’s First Trans March in Boise. This non-political event gives all Boiseans the opportunity to demonstrate solidarity with the trans and non-binary community and celebrate Boise’s local trans history and the incredible individuals who are a part of it.

This event will take place on September 13, 2024 from 5:30pm - 7:30pm, which will be right before Boise Pride Weekend’s kick-off events. We will congregate by the Capital and at 6:00pm march down to Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial where we will have a mini-showcase of local trans speakers (e.g., Bonnie Violet) and performers (e.g., Frida Nights, Transjenifah Gawdy, Frank Siracha, and Wren Carpenter). We will also introduce the “Give Us Our Flowers While We Are Here” art installation and invite all participants to write messages of hope, joy, and gratitude on paper flowers that will fill up a 3 foot tall vase. This art installation will be showcased all weekend at Boise Pride. The mini-showcase will go from 6:30pm-7:00pm. Once the mini-showcase is over, we will walk back to the Capital where we will end the march by entering the Boise Pride festival.
