Natural Bridge, by Dave Berry, is located outside the entrance of the Main Library in downtown Boise. Made from stainless steel, the sculpture depicts a Native American artist embracing a large stone decorated with petroglyphs. Natural Bridge was commissioned in memory of Boise pioneer David Falk in 1991 and dedicated in 1994.

Artist Statement: Creating an artwork to compliment a library is to me a great honor … It is the libraries, in large part, that make it possible for the common people of each generation to have the wealth of discovery of all past generations … this artwork now exists which I hope can tactually, visually and magically span the great spaces between aboriginal Americans and us here today ... Especially I wish to draw attention to the fact of these ancient people having their own repositories of information which each generation then drew from and added to ... the most delightful part to me has been the opportunity to arrange the various masses that make up the rock and figure, together with their respective spaces, colors, and textures and in so doing to comment on the life experiences of these ancient ones, their loves and fears and their aspirations. A "Natural Bridge."
