Survey
We are seeking community input through an online survey to help shape and prioritize values, strategies, and future investments in Boise's arts, cultural, and creative sectors. The 2024 survey assesses the experiences and insights of INDIVIDUALS (e.g., artists, creatives, members of the public) and those of CULTURAL ORGANIZATIONS.The survey results will directly inform the Cultural and Creative Industries Master Plan, an update to the inaugural Cultural Master Plan published in 2017. The survey closes on November 22, 2024.
About the Cultural and Creative Industries Survey
The City of Boise’s Department of Arts & History completed its first Cultural Master Plan in 2017. A lot has changed since then including recovering from a global pandemic, exponential population growth, and many changes in the local cultural, creative, and history ecosystem. Arts & History is expanding the scope of the upcoming plan to include the creative industries, which are for-profit economic activities that involve creativity, originality, and intellectual property in the creation, production, and distribution of goods and services. These include design, media, film, music, local culinary arts, publishing, and other creative entrepreneurial activities.
The guiding vision for the plan is to foster a place-based sense of belonging by engaging communities in the assessment and visioning of Boise’s cultural and creative industries ecosystem. The plan will provide a strategic framework to assess, develop, promote, and invest in Boise’s cultural and creative industries. The plan is both inward facing (for city employees and departments) and outward facing (for stakeholders and the public), to align conversations and policy actions regarding the creative community’s current state and future desired conditions.
Your responses will remain anonymous and will be used to inform values, strategies, and potential investments into the arts, cultural and creative industries environment in Boise and the surrounding area. We truly appreciate your input and encourage you to share this survey with other artists and individuals who are interested in the arts and creative practices in Boise and the surrounding area.
INDIVIDUALS (e.g., artists, creatives, members of the public)
Thank you for taking the time to provide your input on your experiences and perceptions as either an artist living and working in Boise and the surrounding area and/or a member of the public who engages with arts and culture in some way. Your input and voice will help shape the future of Boise’s arts, cultural and creative industry environments and will be used to inform an upcoming Boise Cultural and Creative Industries Master Plan.

CULTURAL ORGANIZATIONS
Thank you for taking the time to provide input and information about your arts, cultural, historical, or creative industry organization/business. Your input and voice will help shape the future of Boise’s arts, cultural and creative industry environments and will be used to inform an upcoming City of Boise’s Cultural and Creative Industries Master Plan led by the Department of Arts & History. As this is a survey of organizations and businesses, please only have ONE REPRESENTATIVE from your organization respond to the survey – in the case of an organization with large departments or largely separated operations it would be appropriate for one person from each department to respond.
