Beginning today, the Boise City Department of Arts & History invites individuals and organizations in established and emerging creative and cultural fields to submit proposals designed to directly benefit Boise residents for the first round of the Catalyst Grant Program. A 2024 pilot program, the Catalyst Grant will award a total of $40,000 in four (4) rounds to support small-scale to medium-sized cultural projects that take place within Boise City Limits and occur before September 30, 2024.

Applicants can submit proposals for a standard award size of $2,000 during the following application windows:

  • Round 1: January 2 to February 2, 2024 – Apply Here
  • Round 2: March 4 to April 5, 2024
  • Round 3: May 6 to June 7, 2024
  • Round 4: July 1 to August 2, 2024

Grant applications will be reviewed by a panel consisting of members of the Arts & History Commission and arts and history practitioners from diverse communities. Proposals are evaluated based on quality, community benefit, mission alignment, accessibility, and management. Review the Catalyst Grant Pilot Program guidelines.

For this first round, applicants are encouraged, but not required, to join Arts & History staff for a virtual information session on:

  • Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 12-1 p.m., via Zoom – Register Here

Information sessions will be recorded and uploaded to our website and YouTube. Applicants are also invited to book a meeting with the Grants Manager.

The Catalyst Grant Pilot Program supports the Department of Arts and History’s mission to cultivate a distinct sense of place which reflects Boise’s rich past, diverse communities, and unique natural setting by creating opportunities that nurture and sustain Boise’s creative economy. We envision the program bringing people together to build positive relationships that help create A City for Everyone.

The Catalyst Grant Pilot Program is offered in addition to the Department of Arts & History’s annual Grant Program, which will open on Monday, April 29, 2024. More information at boiseartsandhistory.org/Grants
