Call to Artists - Local Artists Invited to Apply

City of Boise, Department of Arts and History in coordination with Capital City Public Market and Capital City Development Company (CCDC), invite professional and student performing artists and groups to submit an application to perform at the Capital City Public Market in downtown Boise.  Musicians, dancers, singers, actors, magicians, puppeteers and other street performers are encouraged to apply.

Project Dates:  Saturdays from April 18 to October 24, 2009, 9:30 am - 1:00 pm.  Each accepted individual or group applicant will be scheduled up to three Saturdays between April and October depending upon availability.

Compensation:  Artists are paid for performances and may accept tips and distribute promotional materials.

Application process:  In addition to completing the application, new artists must submit a work sample or be available to audition on March 16, 2009.  Returning artists (those who performed at the market in summer 2008) just need to fill out and return the application.

Obtain an application for Performing Arts in the Market.

  • Go online to www.cityofboise.org/CityGovernment/ArtsAndHistory and download the application.  (Available as a .pdf and as a Word document.)
  • Call the Cultural Programs Manager at City of Boise, Department of Arts & History at 433-5675
  • Stop by the office at City Hall, 150 North Capitol Boulevard, First Floor, Building Two

Submit applications by Friday, March 6, 2009.
