Musician/storyteller Gary Eller will perform a selection of collected Idaho folk songs October 1 at the opening session of the 2009-2010 Fettuccine Forum.

Gary sings and plays guitar, five-string banjo and bass. He was born and raised in West Virginia and lived in Ohio and Georgia prior to moving to Idaho. In 2007, Gary Eller held a grant from the Idaho Humanities Council to collect historically based songs of the Snake and Salmon River region. Songs about actual Idaho people, places and events provide a unique window into the regions rich heritage.  To date, Gary has collected about 1000 songs related in some way to Idaho. A selection of his songs has been compiled on a CD available for sale at the Forum.

The Fettuccine Forum is a free public lecture series on six First Thursdays throughout the academic year.  Bring a friend and join us on First Thursday for the first forum of the season. The evening promises to be fun and lively with audience participation!

Special thanks to the Idaho Humanities Council for sponsoring the October forum.
