Idaho Ice World Public Art Proposals on Public View

Boise- Boise City invites the public to view and provide public comments on three Idaho artists proposals for public art at Idaho Ice World or on the department's blog. A selection panel chose Reham Aarti, Byron Folwell and the team of Will Spearman and Sue Latta as finalists from fourteen applications received. Each of the finalists created a site-specific proposal of what they would make if selected for the commission.

Idaho Ice World is located at 7072 S. Eisenman Road, inBoise,Idaho, and is a family-oriented recreation facility operated by Boise Parks & Recreation. It features ice rinks, multi-purpose room, pro shop, restaurants and other vendors. The proposals are in the front lobby of the facility.

Project Budget: $24,000

Eligibility: Open toI daho artists of any visual arts discipline.

On View: December 14 - January 2, 2012

A selection panel will meet, review finalist proposals and choose one of the three artists to create their proposed artwork. All public comments will be provided to the selection panel prior to their decision making process so that they consider the public's perspective when deciding which to commission.
