November Fettuccine Forum Series Presents “Dia de Los Muertos”

The Fettuccine Forum is proud to present a panel discussion on "Dia de Los Muertos" on Thursday, November 3, 2011. This discussion is part of a collaborative program with the Idaho State Historical Museum designed to explore Mexican culture.
Both the Forum and the museum's exhibit will address themes exploring current culture (history in the making), memory, and artistic expression. Bring a friend and join the fun!
Kurt Zwolfer, education specialist at the Idaho State Historical Museum, will serve as the Forum's panel moderator. This is his second year of organizing the Dia de Los Muertos program. Zwolfer is a graduate of the University of Illinois and Boise State University (BSU).
Panelists include Alma Gomez, Ana Maria Schachtell and Karen Brown.
- Alma Gomez is currently an adjunct art professor at BSU; this is her second year participating in Dia de Los Muertos.
- Ana Maria Schachtell spearheaded the establishment of the Hispanic Cultural Center of Idaho, which opened in 2003 inNampa.
- Karen Brown teaches a workshop for BSU entitled Monuments, Memorials and Shrines.

- November 3, 2011: Doors open at 5:00pm and the presentation begins at 5:30pm.

The Fettuccine Forum is a free public lecture series on six First Thursdays throughout the academic year and is produced by the Boise City Department of Arts & History. This season the Forum is sponsored by the Idaho Humanities Council with support from the Office of the Mayor, Boise State Public Radio, Platform Architecture-Design, TAG Historical Research, Preservation Idaho, Idaho State Historical Society, Trademark Sign, and Landmark Impressions.
Lively and informal, the Fettucine Forum invites the public to interact with politicians, artists, historians, activists, advocates and professionals in an effort to promote good citizenship and responsible growth through education.
