BOISE,ID- The City of Boise Departments of Arts & History and Planning and Development Services/ Historic Preservation Commission, announce a series of three free historic home preservation workshops beginning February 2012.

Workshops will be held on the following dates and will address the following subjects:

If These Walls Could Talk: Uncovering the History of Your Home- February 13, 2012  
presented by Barbara Perry Bauer and Elizabeth Jacox of TAG Historical Research.

Seeing it Through: Maintaining & Updating Historic Windows- March 12, 2012
Ray Westmoreland of Wood Windows & DonWattsof the Idaho State Historical Society, Historical Preservation Office.

It's What's on the Outside that Counts: Exterior Maintenance- April 9, 2012 
Fred Walters, Architectural Historical Architect.

All workshops will be held at the El Korah Temple in downtown Boise from 6:00pm-8:00pm:1118 West Idaho St. Boise, Idaho 83702. Parking is available on the east side of the building.

Additional support for this program is provided by the Idaho Heritage Trust and the Idaho State Historic Preservation Office.

The Department of Arts and History was established by City Ordinance in March 2008 to enhance the Boise community by providing leadership, advocacy, education, services, and support for arts and history. The new Department emerged from the former Boise City Arts Commission, which was established by City Ordinance in 1978 as a nonprofit city agency to advise and assist the City Council in development, coordination, promotion and support of the arts.
