Zoo Boise Public Art Project
NEWS RELEASE

Boise- Idaho artists are invited to apply for an
opportunity to design public art for Zoo Boise to celebrate the
fifty-year relationship between Friends of Zoo Boise and the City
of Boise. Muralists, sculptors, mixed-media artists of all kinds
are welcome. Up to $40,000 is available to commission art; it is
expected that two to four artworks each under $24,000 will be
commissioned.
WHAT | Applications can be saved to a CD and
mailed, dropped off, or files can be e-mailed.
Applications must include resume under 3 pages, up to 10 digital images of past artwork, image identification sheet with artist name, titles, dates, mediums, and size of art, and SASE if artist want submission returned. Cover letter encouraged.

What's Next? Up to five finalists will be selected and paid $500 to design specific proposals for public art at Zoo Boise. Proposals will be put on public view and a panel will select winning proposals.
Zoo Boise, located in Julia Davis Park in downtown Boise, connects visitors with animals to inspire and involve the community in the conservation of wildlife worldwide. Zoo Boise is a service of the City of Boise and is supported by the Friends of Zoo Boise, a non-profit organization that has raised thousands of dollars for new exhibits and wildlife conservation.
