Visual Artwork Featuring Boise for Boise City Council
Chambers
The City of Boise is re-doing City
Council Chambers and seeks to purchase one existing artwork
featuring Boise City to be displayed behind the City Council dais.
Artists are asked to submit photographs, paintings, digital works,
or other two-dimensional media for consideration. The selected
original artwork will be owned by the City of Boise. Artists retain
the copyright.
The selected work will be photographed or scanned at high resolution, blown up to approximately eight feet wide by five feet tall and will be printed and mounted behind the dais, where the Mayor and City Council are seated during official meetings. This artwork will be the backdrop as seen in person and when City Council meetings are recorded and shown on cable access television.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to Idaho visual artists.
DEADLINE: Thursday, November 1, 2012, 4:00PM
ABOUT US: The Department of Arts and History was established by City Ordinance in March 2008 to enhance the Boise community by providing leadership, advocacy, education, services, and support for arts and history. The new Department emerged from the former Boise City Arts Commission, which was established by City Ordinance in 1978 as a nonprofit city agency to advise and assist the City Council in development, coordination, promotion and support of the arts.
